报告摘要:

In this talk, we will consider three different exterior scattering problems. Based on the Dirichlet-to-Neumann(DtN) operators, the exact transparent boundary conditions are introduced and the model can be reformulated as transmission boundary value problems. By a new duality argument technique, the a posteriori error estimates are derived for the finite element method with the truncated DtN boundary operators. The a posteriori error estimates consist of the finite element approximation error and the truncation error of the DtN boundary operator, where the latter decays exponentially with respect to the truncation parameter. The adaptive DtN finite element algorithm is proposed for solving the transmission problems, where the truncation parameters are determined through truncation errors and the mesh elements for local refinements are chosen through finite element discretization errors. Numerical experiments are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
